The Beatles Revolver Super Deluxe Edition (2022)

Mixed by Giles Martin and Produced by George Martin (1966)

It’s a great time to be a Beatles fan these days with the great releases we have been getting. From Pepper to now Revolver to the film Get Back. I will make a video review of this set once I get my physical copy.

With the release of Revolver, The Beatles made an album ahead of its time. The new sound and their mastery of the studio gave way to new and inventive songs matched by no one even to this day. The original album now sounds so amazing. But the magic lies in the studio sessions released.

Many artist release album with out-takes and versions of the songs from an original album, but from the ones I heard, only The Beatle’s out-takes feels like hearing entirely new songs and they sound just as great as the one released. Take for instance Got to get you into my life with only the band, simple but sounded great. Hearing Love you to acoustic and with backing vocals was different. The process with Yellow Submarine is so revealing to hear Lennon and McCartney work the song out. Rain in the original speed, and many other great studio session tracks.

Can’t wait to get my physical copy to read the book and hear the album again. Giles Martin all we can do is thank you for these remixes and please Rubber Soul next!
