Directed by Olivia Wilde
Starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine
This film has a lot of controversy behind it and that usually helps in terms of giving the film notoriety and creating curiosity over the film. From Shia LaBeouf leaving the project to clashes between the director and it’s star, can the film be better than the drama around it?
The story is about Jack and Alice who live in a place where everything is perfect set in the 1950’s. Trouble starts when Alice begins to suspect that there more than meets the eye about everything in their lives.
I have to start by saying that the concept of the film is not new, it has been seen in other films. The movie is good, I enjoyed it and the last 45 minutes of the film were a bit tense and interesting as we finally see what was going on. The rest of the film is nothing amazing or extraordinary, but it is not bad either. The movie had certain things that worked and the performances carried the movie for me.
Florence Pugh was very good in her performance and so was Harry Styles. The cast all were good in the movie.
Even though I enjoyed it and knowing it will be on HBO Max soon, I would have waited, I expected something more suspenseful as a whole film and not just the last scenes.
