Ted 2 (2015)

Directed by Seth MacFarlane

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Seth MacFarlane,

I’ve had a curiosity about this film for the longest time but never got to see it and oddly enough I’m starting with the sequel without seeing the first one. When it comes to Seth I think his success depends on his Family Guy fanbase because his style of comedy is not universal.

The story this time is that the state does not consider Ted a person and only as property. To keep his wife and live his life he sues the government to be considered human.

So I can’t say if the first one is better, but as for this movie, I am left with mixed feelings. I liked the story and the relationship between the three main characters. But in terms of being a comedy film, I did not find it funny. Of course, it had its moments, but those moments felt like quick joke scenes Seth does on Family Guy. For me it was not funny and I laugh at Family Guy so it is nothing to do with me being sensitive to his style of comedy, I just did not find it that funny as a whole film, it just had a few moments where I laughed.

I think this movie is for die-hard fans of Seth. Others will find the humor, not to their liking and others like me will be in between.
