The man from Toronto (2022)

Directed by Patrick Hughes

Starring Woody Harrelson, Kevin Hart, Kaley Cuoco, Ellen Barkin

The action movie genre has fallen in terms of quality ones being released or maybe my taste has changed I don’t know. I still enjoy a good action film forgiving cliche stories as long as it has cool action and likable characters.

This film is about Teddy. Teddy is married and is struggling to get his ideas to become a successful business. Meanwhile, the man from Toronto is hired to use his methods to get information from two men and deliver it to a man named Martin. Their paths collide when Teddy arrives at a cabin and gets mistaken for the man from Toronto.

I have to be honest and say that not all in the movie is bad, but this one took effort to finish it. I just could not get past Teddy as a character, I know he was the comic relief of the movie but for me, it was more annoying than funny. It has a lot of good action sequences but the story falls flat in my opinion. It made sense but it did not get to me being too fully interested.

I believe that what turned me off was Kevin Hart playing the same type of role again. I understand that he is not the only that repeats characters, so I think it will depend on whether you are a fan of his comedy. I like some of his comedy but in this film, I just did not laugh.
