I have enjoyed the Despicable Me series. Not all perfect films but they have some elements that make it fun. I always come with that in mind I wanted to see this new Minion film.
This story serves as a prequel as we see Gru as a kid. He wants to become a member of a group called the Vicious 6. He gets an invitation to join and when he gets rejected for being a kid he steals a stone to prove he is worthy.
Once again, the story is nothing special but yet it works because of the minions. The imagination and crazy things they do save the movie. The story was good enough, it can’t be all minions. I had fun with the movie and I think it’s a good family film if you are looking for one.
I try not to review a lot of these animated movies because they are not made for me as a target audience, so I mainly focus on the value they could have for a family situation. Under that scenario, I can say it is a fun option. I went with the family and had fun and at the end of the day with this movie that was the purpose.
