This is supposed to be the last film for the very successful franchise. People pack the theaters I believe because the fascination with dinosaurs does not end and to see them on the big screen is always appealing even when for most of the sequels the stories have not been that great.
For this installment, the dinosaurs are now out in the world co-existing with humans. Owen and Claire live quietly in the woods hiding Maisie. Meanwhile, there is a plague that reunites Dr. Sattler and Dr. Grant as they try to prove that a big company is behind it. The company is in a remote compound where they study dinosaurs and when Maisie is kidnapped and taken there, Owen and Claire go after her.
Ok, the first thing I will say is that I hope this is the last one. The movie is fine, it is not bad and the nostalgic factor of having the characters from the first back helped the film. It is just overdone and when they had a chance to do something different they do the same, take the characters to a remote place to fight the dinosaurs. Also, the same villain, a big corporation.
I had fun with the movie I won’t deny it, but it is more of the same, there is little they can do with the dinosaurs. There were some things in the story that I felt were too much and done just because what else could they do.
The actors and characters are fun to watch especially Sam Neil. Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern together again. But the actors do their jobs.
In the end, it is a fun adventure film but more of the same.
