Starring Adam Sandler, Juancho Hernangomez, Ben Foster, Kenny Smith, Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall
I have to admit that I am a fan of Adam Sandler and I like his dramatic roles. As a fan of the NBA in terms of movies, not all are good but sometimes they get it right and the result is an entertaining movie.
Stanley Sugarman is a scout for the 76ers and he is offered an assistant coach position by the owner. When the owner dies and his son takes over he makes Stanley a scout again and tells him if he does not find the new talent he can’t have the assistant job back. When he finds a kid on the streets of Spain he risks everything to take that kid to the NBA.
I have to say I enjoyed the movie a lot. It had a good story and even though the center of the story is not new, it avoided a few cliches and things that I thought were gonna happen did not. The movie is fun and has a good story behind it. The basketball scenes were very well done. As far as films based on the NBA this was an entertaining movie.
Adam Sandler was very good in the film as was Juancho who I assume is his first film. I like Ben Foster I think he is a good actor and he was good in the movie. It has a good cast played by known and lovable actors that make the movie enjoyable.
