Directed by Robert Eggers
Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe
I wanted to see this movie when it came out to the theaters but I did not get to it. Based on the trailer it looked like a great film and had a good cast.
The story is mainly about Amleth who is the son of a viking king. When his father is betrayed and killed by his brother, he manages to escape to one day revenge his father.
I was a bit let down with a few things by the movie. It felt like I was seeing a viking version of Gladiator, a slave that no one know who he is and then he avenges his family. The movie had good things like the fight scenes and some elements of the story but it was not what I expected.
The cast was another let down, Ethan and Dafoe had so little screen time that they should not have been mention as starring roles. Alexander and Nicole are great actors and both gave good performances.
For me anyway I think the movie was not bad but it was not a great film like I heard or thought by the trailer.
