This is one of the most anticipated movies since it was announced. Batman is an iconic character, finding success in comics, television, and films. I was excited to see this film and I saw it in a late showing so I got home late, but I did not mind.
The mayor of Gotham City is murdered and the killer left a message for Batman. As he keeps keeling he continues to leave messages for Batman. Batman has to find out who is this killer before chaos falls on Gotham.
That was a brief look at the story because it has more plot lines than that but I don’t want to detail much. I have to say that I loved the movie. It was more than I expected. I thought it was a different look and take on Batman as in this film we see the detective side a bit more. The story I felt was good. The Dark Knight was a bit dark and the Joker was evil, here they went up another level. It is a dark film and it worked perfectly with the story.
The film is very long but I honestly did not feel it. The film has a perfect balance of action and moving the story along, I never felt bored or not interested in what was going on. I liked the visuals in the film a lot, a lot of the fighting sequences looked different and great.
So the big question, how was Robert? I thought he was great. I liked his portrayal of Batman and Bruce Wayne. And the cast around him is also great from Zoe to Jeffrey and Ferrell. But I have to mention Paul Dano, he was intense. I like Paul Dano as an actor, he gave great performances in films like Little Miss Sunshine and Love and Mercy. In this film, he does great as the villain.
I think the film succeeds in bringing something different to the Batman films. Great cast and a great story for a great time in a movie theater.
