Starting Kevin James, Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider
I want to be honest, I chose this film because I wanted to see a movie and since my daughter was awake and there in the room, I had to pick a family-friendly film. This is a new film so I decided to see it.
Sean Payton is riding high on the NFL as a head coach. But three years after winning the super bowl, he is suspended from all NFL activities for his involvement in a scandal. He then goes to texas to see his son play and he is asked to join his son’s team.
I have to start by saying that this is the typical bad team that turns good by having this figure that needs to learn something by the end. Yes, it is a movie filled with cliches, now that does not necessarily make a movie bad, but it is a fact. This one has a few things that I did not expect that saved it away for me. As a family film, I think it works. It has the father and son story as well as redemption for the coach. I can’t praise the film but I can say that if you are looking for a family film this one ain’t bad. I think for a younger audience that has not seen many films of these kids they will enjoy because for them there would not be cliches.
Kevin James was good as the coach. The cast features some regulars in Sandler-produced films and they always do the job of bringing fun characters to the screen. The kids were very good also.
