The three musketeers (1993)

Directed by Stephen Herek

Starring Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Chris O’Donnell, Rebecca DeMornay, Tim Curry

I was listening to a 90’s music playlist while driving today and it played the song “All for love” and it reminded me of this film. I wanted to see it and thankfully it was on Disney +.

When the Musketeers are disbanded, three brave Musketeers continue to protect the king and with the help of new friend D’Artagnan fight to save the king against a plot to kill him and become king.

I have not seen many versions of this story but I enjoy this version and what could be the sequel even though made by different studios “The man in the iron mask”. I love the characters, they each contribute and are funny, but at the same time, the film has good action and a good story.

The cast is great. The three main musketeers (Sheen, Platt, and Sutherland) have good chemistry and they all gave funny performances. Chris O’Donnell also gave a good performance. But the best performance goes to Tim Curry, he is just such a great actor.

This is a nice adventure film from the ’90s, seeing it many years later it is still a fun film to see.
