Directed by Dani de la Orden
Starring Paco de Lucía and Miren Ibarguren
There is a show from Spain called Aida and it’s one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. This film stars two of the actors that were part of that great cast. Based on that I decided to see it.
The story is about Flora and Victor who after many years of marriage and three kids, decide to get a divorce. At first, they were doing everything amicably and had all the details worked out. That was until Victor gets a work opportunity in Russia and Flora also gets a great job opportunity. The problem is who gets to pass the opportunity to take care of the kids. This causes a war as to who is the worst parent so the kids decide to stay with the better one.
I have to say I liked the movie. The story and the comedy at times get hard to see because both Flora and Victor behave so badly to the kids, but that is part of the comedy, seeing them and how far they are willing to go. But the film has a good story, good characters, and it is funny.
Paco de Lucía is a funny actor, I have seen a few of his films and he is a great actor. Here he is funny and yet he handled the emotional aspects of the story very well. Miren is also great and funny. The film has a good cast.
I enjoyed it, not a perfect film but it has enough good things to be entertaining.
