This is another release from Warner Brothers that is available in theaters and on HBO Max. It has received bad reviews but I decided to give it a chance.
The story is set in a future time where Miami is flooded and due to the temperature people sleep all day and go out at night. Nick works in a place where they allow people to revisit memories. There he meets and falls in love with Mea. After a while she disappears and finding her becomes his obsession in this neo-noir style movie.
What can I say, I found it hard to sit through this one. Every minute of the film felt like an eternity and the film story is supposed to keep you intrigued and on the edge of your seat, but it did not happen with me. I just did not care about the characters and the mystery was not interesting to me. I did like the Miami flooded idea and the memory machine and using that to find the truth. But the story overall just wasn’t good. The ending and the reveal were not what I expected and it was interesting but the path to get there got tiresome at one point.
The movie has good actors who did their best with what they had. Hugh Jackman is a great actor and his performance is good as well as Thandie’s.
It had a few good moments but overall the film was not as good as I hoped. The ending saved it a little bit, but I can’t say that I enjoyed the movie.
