Directed by Bennett Miller
Starring Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Chris Pratt
I am a big fan of sports movies and for a few days, I wanted to see this film again. I like movies that are on the business side like the movie Draft Day where we are taken in the draft process.
The story is based on General Manager Billy Bean and how he builds his Oakland A’s team using new ways to value players. Facing resistance, Bean and Pete go against all odds and make history.
What I like most about this picture is the drama behind the games and how Bean goes against scouts, coaches, and other teams trying to find a new way to build a team. It has good drama and good moments on the baseball field mixed with real footage of actual games. It is a fun movie along with the drama in the story.
Brad Pitt was great in this movie and he deserved the nomination. Jonah Hill also gave a good performance. Seeing Seymour-Hoffman was bittersweet, he was such a great actor.
I think this film stands among the best sports films that I have seen.
