Suicide Squad (2021)

Directed by James Gunn

Starring Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Pete Davidson, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis.

I have to admit the first Suicide film never caught my interest and to this day I have only seen a few scenes. The trailer for the second made me want to see this one. The characters were different and the movie looked better.

The Suicide Squad is a group taken from prison to perform difficult missions. This time the mission was to destroy a Nazi-era prison. As the group goes into the mission they find all kind of complications to secrets.

This film was one crazy ride! Right from the beginning, we get a lot of action and the tone is set for the rest of the film. The violence is crude and bloody. The story itself was good although I did not like that you saw a scene and then suddenly it says minutes earlier, so instead of having the scenes going on simultaneous, they gave us a scene that went back and then the scenes make sense together.

The main characters I liked them all, although my favorite was King Shark, I wish he had more scenes. I think each character has their moment to shine and not fall under what usually happens where the main famous one gets to do most of the stuff.

I liked the movie overall, can’t say it was perfect but I had a lot of fun with the film. It had a lot of cool action moments, the story was good. I think expected more because I had high expectations for it, but at the sale time it did not let me down.

The performances were all good. By now Margot dominates the role of Quinn, she continues to shine in the role. John Cena, Idris, and all the cast all performed well.

So a very action-packed film, a lot of violence and funny moments make this a very enjoyable film.
