Black Widow (2021)

Directed by Cate Shortland

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, William Hurt, David Harbour

This film has been anticipated because of the times it was delayed because of Covid. Finally getting her film, here we see the story of Natasha as she becomes one of the founding Avengers.

This movie follows the events of Civil War h Natasha being a fugitive for breaking the Sokovia Accords. While in hiding she receives a package from Budapest and she returns and faces her past.

A brief explanation to avoid spoilers. What can I say, I think the movie was worth the wait, for me Marvel did not disappoint with the film. I liked the spy aspect of the film and the tone was balanced, it did not try to be funny all time. It was fun but had a great story behind it all. The action scenes were great and there were plenty. I loved that the film feels connected to the other MCU films even though this one comes after Endgame. I believe this movie should have been done years ago but is better late than never.

Scarlett has complete dominion of this character and in this film, she continues to shine in the role, more since is her film. The cast was great also, Florence was a good character and with Scarlett, they had good chemistry. Rachel and David also added to the film. David’s character was the center of the jokes which is something Marvel does that is the one thing I wish they stopped doing, for example, what they did with Thor, I enjoyed it, but it would have been better to see Thor in all his glory.

I am glad this movie marked my return to the movie theater. It was action-packed and a fun ride. Stay until the end!
