Luca (2021)

Directed by Enrico Casarosa

Starring the voices of Jacob Trembley, Maya Rudolph, Sacha Baron Cohen

I am a huge fan of Pixar movies. In all truth, I can count the films they have made that I don’t like. Soul was one that I did not like that much. Luca is their next release and it is now available on Disney+.

Luca is a sea monster that is curious about life outside the ocean. One day he meets Alberto who teaches about life outside the water and the two becomes friends. When Luca’s parents find that he has been going out of the water they decide to send him into the deep with his uncle. Luca runs away with his friend and since outside the water they turn to human form they go to a nearby town.

I have to say that I enjoyed the film. It had that feeling of summer vacation and having adventures with friends until school time came back again. The movie was fun and like always with Pixar, it had a lot of touching moments regarding parents and friendship. The part of Luca wanting to know about life out of water felt similar to Little Mermaid, but the movie was very good.

Pixar once again provides a film that the kids will enjoy as well as the parents.
