Directed by Jon Avnet
Starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Donnie Wahlberg, John Leguizamo
This movie promised a lot just on the fact that it had Al Pacino together with Robert De Niro on film for the first time since Heat. No doubt both are among the best actors ever and having them together is a treat. That dinner scene in Heat is legendary. In this film, they would share the screen more since they are partners instead of one a cop the other the robber.
The story is about two cops who start investigating a serial killer that leaves poetry behind. They team up with two other cops as they wonder if the killer is a cop.
The movie was a disappointment for me as I am seeing it again. Pacino and De Niro are great in the film but the story was not the best. It had its good parts in it but no that much. Maybe it is just that with these two legends together the film should be epic, like The Irishman. It is not a bad film by any means, it could have been better though.
The performances are the best thing the film has. De Niro and Pacino are great like they usually are. The rest of the cast shines also from Leguizamo and Wahlberg.
It is a good thriller film where we don’t know who is the killer. It does the job of giving us a new film with these two movie legends, but it is not a memorable film.
