Directed by Jason Bateman
Starring Nicole Kidman, Jason Bateman, Christopher Walken, Katherine Hahn
I don’t know how I found this film or why it got me interested. I think it was the cast, it has good actors and without knowing much about the film I decided to see it.
The story is about two brothers. Anne and Baxter, who grew up with parents who performed crazy acts that they called art, and they made their kids participate. Now grown up, Baxter has an accident and brings them all together, only this time Anne and Baxter do not want a part in their parent’s arts.
I have to say that I love the story. There are a lot of films that cover family differences and the scars they live in, but this one was done more originally. Knowing what the parent’s art once they disappear as an audience we can relate to both kids. Annie who thinks is another stunt and Baxter who just think they are gone. The characters are well written and developed. I liked the twist at the end.
Nicole Kidman and Jason Bateman are both so good in the movie. Christopher Walker gives a good performance.
I have to say that I enjoyed the movie. I thought it had a good story, a little bit of mystery, and a good ending. I had theories of what I thought would happen but I did not guess one of them.
