I love it when a film surprises me and this one did. I thought it was going to be different. Released on Netflix and nominated for a Golden Globe, I got to see it today.
The story is about Marla Grayson. She looks for old people and convinces a judge to award her guardianship, she controls the person’s visits and assets. Making a profit from those assets.
How can I describe this one without giving anything away? I had an entirely different idea of what was the film going to be and it took me for a ride. The story has a lot of plot twists and turns. It has some predictable moments but overall the story kept me guessing and interested. I think it was an interesting film with a bit of suspense. The main characters are not likable at all but their mischief kept me watching to see how far they would get.
Rosamund Pike was amazing in her performance, she achieves the goal of making the audience hate her character but still wants to see the film. Peter Dinklage was also great in the film. Diane Wiest is a proven actress and she was so good in the film.
I enjoyed this movie because it kept me intrigued with what would happen and a lot of moments in the film took me by surprise.
