The Mummy (1959)

Directed by Terence Fisher

Starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee

I thought this one was part of the Universal Monster movies but this one was a British version of The Mummy. I was looking for classic horror films, I am a fan of Dracula and The Creature of the Black Lagoon.

When a couple of archeologists discover a sacred tomb an Egyptian who controlled a Mummy sets to get revenge on the archeologist.

There is a charm to these classic horror films. They don’t have the technology so the makeup and the sets look good. Also, they rely on storytelling to provide scares. In this one, I liked the Egyptian story and the sets. The Mummy played by Christopher Lee looked so great.

It is not as scary as a film but I did enjoy the movie.
