Wonder Woman: Bloodlines (2019)

Directed by Sam Liu and Amy McKenna

Voices by Rosario Dawson, Jeffrey Donovan

I think I said this before, I am a fan of DC animated films. I have seen a few of the Batman movies and one of Superman. Thanks to the DC Universe app there are a lot of those films available to see.

Wonder Woman Bloodlines begins when a man accidentally falls in the land of the Amazons and Wonder Woman against her mother’s wishes helps him escape and leaves the world of the Amazons behind. In the city, she lives with Julia Kapatelis and her daughter Vanessa. Diana is looking to learn about the world she now wants to protect and in this process, Vanessa grows jealous of her mother’s relationship with Diana. Years later Diana is now known as Wonder Woman and has to fight a Villain named Doctor Poison and Vanessa who has gained powers and wants to kill Diana.

At first, I was thrown off because it was the same storyline used in the movie. Where Steve falls in the land of the Amazons and Diana defines her mother to save him. But after that, the story was original and new. I liked the movie, it had good action sequences and a good story. It felt like it had a theme about mother and daughters because both Diana and Vanessa wanted so bad to please their mothers and yet both felt they could not.

It was another good film from the DC animated universe. I liked the different villains Wonder Woman has to fight. The characters are likable and overall it was a entertaining film.
