Liam Gallagher: As it was (2019)

Directed by Charlie Lightening and Gavin Fitzgerald

This is a nice follow up on the Supersonic film, but only offers Liam’s side of the story. It offers an explanation of what happened that made Oasis break up. I think his case is almost like Ringo when The Beatles broke up, he did not write songs and he still found the way have a great solo career, Liam was able to find his way into writing and making new music successfully.

This documentary looks at the life of Liam from the moment Oasis ended. We see how he tried to quickly move forward with another band to how he struggled until he made his successful solo album in 1917.

It was an interesting look at this fascinating character. While in Oasis he just played the part of the crazy Rock Star while Noel just focused on the music. I think neither of them understood that it was the combination of the two of them together. I have not heard the album but I have always been intrigued as to why these two brothers have spent 10 years without even seeing each other and the effect on the family because these means that family events either Liam do not go or Noel does not go.

The documentary is revealing and takes you deep into Liam’s life, so if you are a fan I think you will like this film.
