I am not the biggest Coldplay fan but I do like their work up until Mylo Kyloto. Now I will say this, I admire that they experiment and try new things with their music, but for me, in the last few albums the songs were not good enough. With Everyday Life, I decided to give them another chance.
It is a concept album divided into two sides: Sunset and Sunrise. It handles different social themes like guns, police brutality and other life themes. It is a good album, the tone of it is kind of low because most of the songs are slow. As an art and a concept album, I liked it, in terms of listening to the album for the songs themselves I don’t know. I would have to be in a specific mood to listen to it. The stand out tracks for me are: BroKen, Trouble in Town, Daddy.
Like I said I admire the risks they take and in this case the result was good, the songs are good and it has good lyrics.
