The last installments of the main Star Wars saga have really divided fans. I am one of those that was excited when Force Awakens was good, it had a few things that felt repeated, but it was good to see those characters again. The Last Jedi was a complete disappointment for me, the bad use of Luke and the way they went with the story. How will this one go…..well it did what it could.
The story starts just where Last Jedi ended, and the rebellion continues to search for ways to defeat the first order.
When it was announced that Abrams would return for this I really had no reaction, I really did not know how they could fix the Star War franchise. Abrams achieved a movie that pleased the fans and y brought the old characters and out them together with the new. And I am turning into an Adam Driver fan, his work in this films and others I’ve seen really prove he is a good actor.
I was surprised by the plot twist that Rey was a Palpatine. I liked the connection between Rey and Kylo and all their fight scenes are intense and really great. I would have liked to see Luke fight again but they screwed that up in The Last Jedi.
I also liked the fact that in this film the main heroes were together and that gave it the same feel of the originals where Han, Chewbacca and Leia went together on the missions and that allowed for funny situations. The one thing I wanted to see was ghost of other Jedi’s other than Luke, I think it would have been great to see Qui Gon Jinn since the prequels established that he found that way to communicate.
Honestly the trilogy was a letdown and waste of opportunity. They could have done so much better with the old characters, especially Luke. The new characters were not as likable as the original ones, the only one I liked was Kylo. In terms of Rise of the Skywalker I think it was the best one because of the elements I mentioned.
