HBO has undeniably a lot of good series, I have seen a few and wanted to see others that as today I have not being able to yet. I decided to see this one because it had few episodes and the cast attracted me.
The story takes place in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Jane, a single mother is moving there and enters her son Ziggy into a private school where he meets Madeleine and other mothers that form a friendship and share what’s going on with their lives.
I think the series takes a look at the high society, whether to just provide a look or to serve as a parody as to the excesses of the way they think and live and raise their kids. The main characters are Jane, she has a son after being raped and moves there with his son. Things get complicated when her son is accused of bullying other children. Madeline is in a seemingly perfect marriage and is the typical mom involved in everything, Celeste is a mother of two, she is abused by her husband but remains with him. There are a lot of storylines in the series that are best not revealed.
The show is really interesting and fascinating to see how these people interact with each other and feel they own the world. The performances are all really good, with that cast one can’t expect nothing less really. The show is very good and since it has only 7 episodes, it one show you can see it and know it won’t take that much time.
Currently I’m seeing season two, so soon I will write about it. Meanwhile, if you have HBO, I recommend Little Big Lies.
