The Revenant (2015)

Directed by Alejandro Gonzalez

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady

This is the role that finally won him an Academy Awards for Best Actor. It was a powerful performance but not Leo’s best film in my opinion.

He stars as Hugh Glass, a man who is guiding a group of trappers in an unorganized territory with his son. Suddenly he is attacked by a grizzly bear and left badly injured. The group selects a few to stay with him but they betray him, they plan to leave him there to die and they kill his son. Against all the challenges of nature, he arrives at the camp where the rest of the group was. They helped him to get better and planned to look for John Fitzgerald who is the one that leads the group to leave him behind.

I enjoyed the film but it’s one of those that you see one time and not many times. The movie most attractive part is Leo’s performance. The majority of the movie is Leo’s character trying to survive injured and on his own as he searches for those that left him behind. Tom Brady also gives a great performance.
